Great thrift store find: 1930’s copy of Mary Poppins
It’s been pretty cloudy here in L.A. So I though it would be the perfect time to start reading this copy of Mary Poppins I came across. Oh how I love the smell of vintage books. The cover is a tad bit faded the interior of the book is still in positively perfect condition, and is complete with full illustration.
When I had found a copy of this book I honestly thought it would be somewhat around the same story line as the the Disney film. I’ve only read a few pages so far, but from what I read I was pretty much right. There are a few minor differences like how Bert is a match-man not a chimney sweep, whom only appears in one chapter of the story, and how there are a pair of twin babies no one ever knew about. Lets not forget the about how there about 4 more books that follow this one. I really wonder how the rest of this book will turn out. I really hope its not a cliff hanger like most stories nowadays, that would be something.
